  • EP Hands On In Between out on Aug 7th

    The 'Hands On In Between' EP is Paul van Dyk´s follow up on his fifth artist album, 'In Between'. The album met with global critical and commercial acclaim and cemented his position as the world´s leading electronic music artist. The ensuing months have seen tours across the planet, including DJ dates and the new addition of van Dyk´s unique live show, which took in two dates in Central Park, the Ultra Music Festival, and more. Each mix takes the original track firmly into a club environment, making them perfect for peak-time consumption. Starting with a 12" release on August 7th and followed by a digital release incl. 8 additional remixes released by the end of August. Also included is the result (Far Away Mateo Murphy Remix) of Paul´s Beatport remix contest.

    Last month’s Paul van Dyk remix contest saw over 500 aspiring producers remix PvD and Giuseppe Ottaviani’s single ‘Far Away’!A winner and two runners-up have been chosen, and all three will be released on Vandit Digital shortly.

    In this edition of 'My City_My Life', superstar DJ, Paul van Dyk takes viewers around 'his' Berlin. He shows viewers around the East German neighbourhood of his childhood and talks about being a young boy growing up in an area where the communist party filmed their propaganda videos. Paul also takes 'My City_My Life' to the remains of the Berlin Wall, the physical divide that could have easily prevented him from finding his love of music. By managing to tune into West German radio stations, banned in his part of the city, he began a musical journey which led to his success today as an international DJ, producer and musician.

    Reflecting Paul’s legendary DJ sets at Amnesia, Cream’s spiritual Ibiza home, this album sees Paul mix the real sound of Ibiza over two CDs taking various genres of electronic music but always maintaining the Paul van Dyk vibe. Release date: June 16th 2008

  • Paul van Dyk ‘Far Away’ Remix Competition on Beatport

    And for the very first time, the Beatportal community will have the chance to vote for the best submitted remixes.

    The remix competition is open to producers from all genres, as Paul van Dyk is looking for innovative, cutting-edge and thought-provoking mixes of his track.

    The contest operates in two phases; the first involves a submission period for remixes (from May 12th through June 2nd), and the second involves a voting period by users from within the Beatportal community (from June 3rd through June 23rd).

    As well as having their remix released on Paul van Dyk’s label Vandit Digital, the first place winner will also receive a Pacemaker, $100 in Beatport Credit, and a copy of Ableton Suite (including Ableton Live 7, Sampler, Operator, Electric, Analog, Tension, Drum Machines, Essential Instrument Collection 2 and Session Drums).

    And the second and third place runners-up will receive Ableton Live 7 and Ableton Live 7 LE, respectively, along with Beatport gear.
